Deception

Deception refers to the act of deliberately misleading or tricking someone into believing something that is not true. It involves the use of falsehoods, distortion of the truth, or manipulation of information to create a false impression. Deception can be intentional, where a person consciously aims to mislead, or can occur through negligence if someone fails to provide accurate information. It can take various forms, including lies, omissions, exaggerations, and fraud. Deception is often used in contexts ranging from personal relationships to business dealings, and it can have significant ethical and legal implications. Being deceived can lead to a loss of trust, harm to individuals or groups, and unintended consequences for the deceiver.
